Consciousness Magazine had the opportunity to catch up with chart-topping recording artist Tocarra. She has worked with a plethora of industry talents including Keith Murray, Tyree Cooper, Sounds of Blackness, BenOne, VuDu Spellz, Aaron ‘Hitman’ Pittman, to name a few.

Here is what she had to share during a recent Q&A.

 

Q. Who is the artist Tocarra?

A. Tocarra is a professional recording artist who has collaborated on records with many industry greats. My music style is a mesh of genres including Hip Hop, R&B, House, Dance, Steppers, and so forth.


Q. Tell us about your new single Block Party.

A. Oh my…it’s definitely a party anthem record! The vibe is amazing. It is a feel good song that every age group can relate to. Of course, everyone likes to get together, vibe with the DJ, dance, and just have a great time. I give a shout out to BenOne, Mr Bravalis, Aaron Comprehend, and Khaos for making this record a success.

 

Q. What inspiration would you share with up and coming artist?

A. As far as inspiration, I would say stay true to yourself and just be you. While reaching success levels always remain humble and make it a priority to give back.

 

Q. How do you stay relevant within the music industry?

A. I stay relevant by focusing on my craft and continuing to put out unique music. Also, I have a great team and crew around me who has my best interest.

Mikael Burke directs the musical Milo Imagines the World
