Tocarra & Evening Vibes

 Tocarra & Evening Vibes (Interview)

The group, Tocarra & Evening Vibes consists of four members Tocarra, Aaron “Comprehend”, Nina Bina and Mr Bravalis. The group came together when Tocarra was seeking out artist to perform at one of her festivals. When they began to rehearse, there were instant connections. From that point on, the group began to perform together and is looking to release their first album. They are also currently in the studio working on other projects.

Consciousness Magazine had the opportunity to catch up with some of the members. Here is what they have to share with the readers.

CM: What motivated you to want to get into music?

Tocarra: As a youth I absolutely loved listening to music, writing poetry, and playing instruments. Any spare time I had you would always catch me indulging in one of the aforementioned hobbies. However, I actually got into the music industry after being discovered by my music producer Aaron ‘Comprehend’ Robinson. Once discovered, this mastermind connected me with tons of industry greats and legends and my career simply escalated and took off. Being in the music industry has been a great experience for me, as I enjoy creating good music, connecting with people, and having the opportunity to touch the masses by expressing and conveying inspirational content for my fans and listeners.

Mr Bravalis: So most people will say certain artist or certain situations, I can’t say that. My motivation came from listening to my parents and the music that they were listening to. If you really paid any attention to the music it instilled an emotion. I would listen to the music and not sing to it but identified with it.  When I got older and started seeing what my counterparts were doing in rapping, I got into lyrics.

Nina Bina: I got into music because it's always felt like home to me. It wasn't about chasing fame or recognition - it was about finding a way to express what I couldn't put into words. Music has this incredible ability to connect people, and I've always been drawn to that kind of impact.

Aaron Comprehend: It was the music I heard during my childhood and also music was an outlet for me to escape my reality while living in poverty.

CM: What has your experience been like working with the group?

Tocarra: I have been a solo artist for years, so for me, working with the group has been a unique experience like no other. When we first formed as a group the energy was…and still is amazing! Our connections were instant; everyone gets along and simply loves spending time together. The vibes in our studio sessions are unmatched. Our performances are full of energy. We have a blast together! We are more than just your typical group – we are a family.

Mr Bravalis: [What I like most about the group is] the banter, spending time with the group, learning more about each other and being able to go on stage after we have these intense rehearsals. The biggest part of it is spending time with people who decided, ‘hey, let’s do something together and build something with this’. I love being a solo artist but I love being in a group. It’s exciting and something different. I’m enjoying it.

Nina Bina: Working with the group has been a journey. Like any close-knit team, we have our ups and downs. But when we are in the studio creating or on stage performing - It's a feeling like no other. Those moments of harmony when we are all in sync and the audience feels it too, reminds me why I do this.

Aaron Comprehend: It has been amazing. The vibe and energy is not like anything I have ever experienced.

CM: Do you have any artist that you would like to work with in the future?

Tocarra: During my music career I have had the opportunity to work with many industry greats and legends including platinum recording artist BenOne, legendary hip hop icon Keith Murray, 3x Grammy Award-winning group Sounds of Blackness, and many more. However, in the future I would love to work with Lauren Hill, Usher and Mariah Carey.

Mr Bravalis: I would say Ludacris. I have always been a fan of the deliverance he had with his music. To listen to him perform is entertaining. You’re going to feel every word he says and he’s going to paint you a picture of his words.

Nina Bina: So many artists come to mind. Just off the top of my head, I would have to say Mary J. Bilge and India Arie.

CM: You all have an upcoming album that's about to be released. Do you have any favorite songs on the album?

Tocarra: I am extremely excited about the upcoming album release! Every song on the album is unique and holds a special place in my heart. Though, if I had to choose, I would definitely say No Limit is one of my favorites because this song is very inspirational and gives hope to the fans and listeners. It makes them feel like they can achieve anything because their skies have no limits. Vibes is another one of my favorites. This song is just a whole vibe – a chill out, feel-good song that everyone can relate to. I can go on and on because every song is different and is dear to me in its own way…but I will stop here. (laugh)

Mr Bravalis: Yes, I do. Actually, I have two. It would be “Putting in Work”. I love the back and forward with us at the end of the song. I do love the beginning of it, but the end of that song pumps up the entire group. It gets us all into it. Working on that song and feeling the vibration behind that song, that’s probably one my favorites. Then there’s Midnight Vibe. Midnight Vibe – if you cannot relate to that…you are not human. I love them both, everything else is good but I love these two.

Aaron Comprehend: It’s difficult to say which one is a favorite while being the main producer on the album. However, if I really had to choose one it will be “Vibe.” I love the electronically sound of it.

CM: As a singer in the group, what is your chemistry like working with the other group members?

Nina Bina: As the singer in the group, the chemistry with the other group members is sometimes subtle and explosive at the same time. The vibe speaks for itself.

CM: Is there anything that you would like to add before we conclude the interview?

Tocarra: I would like to thank you for this interview and for highlighting myself and my group Evening Vibes in Consciousness Magazine. Be on the lookout for new hott music from myself as a solo artist and also for new music from my group. Shoutout to the record label that I’m signed to ‘They Authentic Records’. I would also like to give a BIG shoutout to all of my fans, followers, supporters, and listeners.  I love you all! Follow me at www.instagram.com/TocarraMusik

Mr Bravalis: I enjoy the friendship of the group, the things I didn’t know that I am learning and being around people. I love people but you can’t be around everybody. Being around the group members for the last past months of working together has been excellent. I wish luck to anybody and everybody doing this. When you find your calling and go with it, there is nothing that can hold you back.

Nina Bina: I'd just like to say thank you for this opportunity to share my journey in music. Balancing my life and pursuing my passion hasn't always been easy, but it's been incredibly rewarding. Music is my way of connecting with others, telling stories, and expressing emotions that words alone can't capture. I'm excited for what's ahead and hope my work continues to resonate with people.
